What we know
General store opened in 1886 by Charles H. L. Pillsbury and Charles C. Pillsbury, who were not related: coal oil, flour and Colt revolvers, the town's first groceries, William Younger's meat market in the back and the post office; the partnership ended in 1887 (PPLD record of survey B51).
