Sources
Every source we use gets a permanent number, which the place pages cite (S-0080, for example). This is the list as of the last update; links go to the source where it is online.
Several of our sources, among them Judy von Ahlefeldt's Thunder, Sun and Snow (1979), Vera Ellett's Growing Up in Black Forest (1990) and Lucille Lavelett's booklets on Monument and its neighbors, are recent local histories. We cite them and quote them briefly; we don't reproduce them. They're worth finding in a library.
