Cheese Ranch

Ranches and homesteadsHistoric or vanishedEl Paso County

What we know

One of the earliest homesteads in the Peyton-Bijou Basin area, begun as a horse ranch supplying mounts to the U.S. Cavalry; a small stone house built into the hillside (PPLD records of survey B5).

Where it was

'Four miles north of Peyton on Bradshaw Road' (PPLD record of survey photo B5): four miles north of GNIS's Peyton point is the north end of Bradshaw Road in OpenStreetMap. Good to about a quarter mile.

Placed from a written description, such as a land section, a distance from a landmark or an old survey note.
