## What we know

Douglas County School District No. 17 on West Plum Creek, between the Oaklands and Glen Grove schools. The first school was built in 1872 by Newton S. Grout; the second, built in 1922 by Leo Grout and Herbert Stewart 'a short distance away,' still stands; the district joined Sedalia's in the late 1940s or early 1950s. The 1993 building inventory record puts it in the SE1/4 NW1/4 of Sec. 26, T8S R68W, and GNIS's point is inside that quarter-quarter; State Register 5DA344 (1995 letter) (Larkspur Historical Society binder 7 pp. 1, 6 and the 1995 letter).
